give me the lincoln memorial, or give me...uh...no pennies

It's bad enough that we continue to produce the penny; it costs more than its face value to produce. But now we're redesigning it? What is the obsession with jacking up all the money? Maybe this has been going on steadily forever, but it sure seems like money stayed the way it was when I was growing up.

As for paper bills, anti-counterfeiting measures were a legit reason for tinkering with the design, ink, and paper. But no one is out there counterfeiting pennies and nickels. Someone at the mint must be totally bored. Also, this design blows.
